I used one of those locker shelves for creating a second level years ago. It was great! Mine plastic instead of metal, so it wasn't toxic for the crabs or anything.

At the moment, I do not have any of these set up right now, but maybe I'll set one up if I stumble upon any.
Do NOT use metal locker shelves. They are toxic to your hermit crabs.
